One of things Kamva Matshoba loves about working for SARS is that she feels like she’s at the cutting edge of the public sector. Kamva works in the economics division. She has a BComm Economics degree from Fort Hare University and an honours degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Find out what it’s like to be at the cutting edge here.

Ask the Experts

At this time of year, a lot of students are worrying about funding to pay for their studies. GradX.net’s experts can help with great advice.

Q: I applied to study BCom at Wits in 2010. I have been offered a place and am waiting for the registration day. Now my sponsor is saying he is not sure if he will be able to sponsor me. How can I get funding/bursary etc?

A: You haven't said what type of BCom you're going to study, but use the bursary lists on this Web site to look for bursaries for BCom degrees. However, a lot of bursary applications for 2010 have closed, and so you may find that the bursaries available are only for 2011. In this case, I would suggest you contact your bank, Eduloan and NSFAS to borrow money to pay for your first year and then make sure you perform well enough in your first year to apply for bursaries for 2011.
